The challenge

During heavy rains overflow spills from combined water canals carry considerable quantities of floating solids and suspended matter into our waters. Do you know the last high water level of your waters? You recognise it from the ‘toilet-paper line’ and the debris left behind, such as paper, synthetic materials and hygiene articles in the vegetation on the river banks.

The way

With the new ATV Worksheet A128 and European standardization, greater efforts are being made for protecting our waters. Additional stormwater treatment for nature reserves, water conservation areas and sensitive recei-ving waters must be done in the future.

The solution

The self-cleaning brush screen HydroClean traps solid pollutants reliably and continuously. After the overflow event, the pollutants are given back into the effluent wastewater. The pollutants are thus treated in the treatment plant. The HydroClean brush screen uses waterwheel technology and requires no electrical power. It is easy to retrofit, even through small manholes, since the installation is done in modular units.
